Tuesday Morning Sketches 395

Good morning TMS friends!  As promised we have a fabulous sketch by Jessi, our DT member who is still on leave.  We do miss her and hope she'll be returning soon.

Tuesday Morning Sketches is sponsoring this week and offering a $10 gift certificate to WPlus9.

Here's the sketch....

And here's my card,
Our little friend turned four yesterday and she just loves dragons. I'm so far behind in my crafting lately that I'm just making her card today. Lucky for me, her party isn't until Sunday so I'm actually ahead of the game. lol.

To create this card I cut out and drew the dragon using Cricut Cartridge Designer's Calendar #274804, Stacked four #4's from Cricut Keystone font on top of each other, used some bright papers from Close to my Heart and added some gems (4 red and 4 orange)

I would love to add this card to the following challenge

Gryphon

Good morning friends,

Today I'm so excited to share the new release from Flowers, feathers and fairies
Gryphon and you can purchase him here

Definition:
The gryphon is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and an eagle's talons as its front feet. Because the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle the king of birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. The griffin was also thought of as king of all creatures. Griffins are known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions.[1] In Greek and Roman texts, griffins and Arimaspeans were associated with gold. Indeed, in later accounts, "griffins were said to lay eggs in burrows on the grounds and these nests contained gold nuggets."[2] Adrienne Mayor, a classical folklorist, proposes that the griffin was an ancient misconception derived from the fossilized remains of the Protoceratops found in gold mines in the Altai mountains of Scythia, in present-day southeastern Kazakhstan, or in Mongolia,[3] though this hypothesis has been strongly contested as it ignores pre-Mycenaean accounts.[4] In antiquity it was a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine.[5]

I can't wait to give this card to our nephew for his birthday! He's an amazing guy who is strong and powerful with a bit of magical just like this creature.

Color Burst - Feathers

Good Morning Friends,

Last weekend I was able to visit my favorite local scrapbook store with out the tiny humans with me. I couldn't resist purchasing a few different feather die cuts. Also found some color burst in the clearance section. So when I arrived home I started playing with watercolor paper and the color bursts. Its so much fun! A micro fine powder that you sprinkle onto paper when activated with water is turns into a burst of color!

Today I created a couple of cards. A birthday card for the stash and a thank you card to a friend who has been a HUGE life saver during this week for me. I love the rainbow look of the feathers but can't decide which way I like the feathers better (up or down) which do you prefer? Let me know in the comments.

I would love to enter these into the following challenges.
